Fresno Police Officers and K-9 discover ex-felon transporting three ounces of methamphetamine after committing simple traffic infraction.
On Saturday, December 14, 2013, Southeast District patrol Officers Hector Zavalza and Tim Murray were conducting proactive patrol in the area of Eleventh/ Floradora when they observed a vehicle driven by David Stuard. The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at a posted stop sign. The officers initiated an enforcement stop on the vehicle and contacted Stuard, who was the driver and sole occupant. Officers learned that Stuard was operating the vehicle on a suspended license and also discovered a small amount of methamphetamine on the center console.
K-9 Officer James Young and his K-9 service partner Flurk, who is cross-trained to detect the presence of narcotics, arrived and assisted the officers.
